寶藏巖當年的拆遷爭議以及居民去留，最終在各方角力下，以將其指定為歷史聚落的形式，維持了地景以及部分居住權。十幾年下來，居住之所逐步邁向展示之所。場所功能性的轉變，為空間帶來不同身份的活動人口組成，改變了身體在其中移動的路徑；而動線的時態，則反映出其歷程的差距。那些曾經作為通道的建築間縫隙或者作為緩坡的屋頂，至此一一有了標示，以限制外來遊客對居住者的打擾。理論上能合法進入這些被規範間隙的人，剩下維持展示之所的工作人員，包括打掃落葉的清潔人員、警衛、以及聚落的行政管理人員。

還有貓。

 

貓沒有在讀禁止標示。鐵網欄杆三角柱紅絨，對貓來說，不過是多了一個需要經過的地形。最重要的是，只要是貓，沒有合法不合法的問題。

 

《當貓申請處》讓不是寶藏巖清潔人員、警衛、行政管理人員的人，有進入禁地的機會。只要填完申請書經過審核變成貓（限時），就可以進入（某些指定）禁地一小段時間。通過當貓申請的人並非同等真貓，畢竟真貓不用寫申請書，也可以待在無論是居住之所、還是展示之所的寶藏巖。

After the controversy over the demolition of Treasure Hill and the situation of its residents, the site was eventually designated as a historical settlement and the landscape and parts of the residency were maintained. Over the past decade or so, the place of residence has gradually evolved into a place of exhibition. The change in the function of the site has brought a different group of people to the space, changing the path of how a body can move through it; and the moving paths varying through time reflect the changing process in its history. The gaps between buildings that once served as passageways, or roofs that served as slopes, are now marked with “no entry” signs to prevent the visitors from disturbing the residents. The only people who can legally enter these regulated gaps are those who maintain the location as a place of exhibition, cleaning ladies who clean up the leaves, guards, and administration staff.

And cats....

 

The cats do not read signs. To cats whether it is net wired fences, railings, traffic cones or retractable barriers, it just means more terrain and objects to pass by. Most importantly, as long as a cat is a cat, there will be no legal residency issues for it.

The ""Applying for Being a Cat Office" allows people who are not cleaners, guards, or administrators at Treasure Hill to have access to the restricted locations. As long as you fill out an application and get permission for being a cat, for a limited time you will be allowed to enter certain designated restricted areas. The applicants who are qualified for being a cat are not real cats.  After all, real cats can live at Treasure Hill without having to write an application form, whether Treasure Hill functions as a place of residence or a place of exhibition.
